local.ext was created to promote contemporary photographers from our local context by expanding their presence within the art market through participation in national and international art fairs.
In response to the underrepresentation of these artists within existing market structures, and to the significant barriers to accessing them, we organize ourselves as a swarm: a flexible and project-based network that assembles around specific objectives, mobilizes the people and resources required to achieve them, and dissolves once the operation is complete. Each intrusion becomes a temporary formation that brings together artists, curators, collectors, and collaborators in order to activate new channels of circulation, visibility, and exchange beyond the limits of the local scene. Our model is decentralized, adaptive, and project-driven. Local.ext does not rely on a permanent hierarchy, but on the ability to connect distinct agents for specific operations in a horizontal way, like a peer-to-peer network. It functions less like a conventional gallery and more like a responsive collective infrastructure: assembling through temporary constellations, acting strategically, and dissolving once the objective has been reached. What it produces is a distributed mode of cultural action: collaborative, tactical, and built to strengthen international projection, professional exchange, and the long-term circulation and impact of contemporary artistic practice.
